The Condition of Neo-liberal Urbanization in Istanbul
Dieser Workshop wird sich mit der ökonomischen Veränderungen der Türkei in den letzten 10 Jahren beschäftigen und deren Auswirkungen auf Istanbul. Vorgestellt werden neoliberale Großprojekte, zentrale AkteurInnen, Instrumente der Stadtentwicklung und städtische Protestbewegungen. Anwesend sind verschiedene stadtpolitisch Aktive aus Istanbul und FilmemacherInnen des Films "Ecumenopolis: Stadt ohne Grenzen", der am Freitag gezeigt wurde.
This workshop will cover general economic transformation of Turkey in the last 10 years and its implications on Istanbul. It will focus on neoliberal urban transformation, different projects, key actors, instruments, outcomes and urban social movements. With activists from IMECE (www.toplumunsehircilikhareketi.org) and the filmmakers of "Ecumenopolis: city without limits", shown on Friday.
